DANIEL GREENFIELD-CAMPOVERDE
DANIEL GREENFIELD-CAMPOVERDE (b. 1984) is a Venezuelan-American visual artist living and working in London, UK. Greenfield-Campoverde holds an MFA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths, University of London and degrees in Architecture from Yale University and Pratt Institute. Greenfield-Campoverde emerges as a compelling voice within the realm of queer and diasporic art. His practice weaves the intricate narratives of identity through a blend of moving and static images. By expanding the boundaries of belonging, Greenfield-Campoverde's work delves into nationhood, sexuality, and place. His drawings and videos function as intricate maps of lived experience, utilising everyday iPhone footage, intimate conversations with family and community members, and references to historical queer figures like Claude Cahun and Derek Jarman. Through recontextualization, these sequences evolve into hybrid, confessional, and experimental visual diaries. Greenfield-Campoverde's art invites viewers into a layered exploration of identity, challenging perceptions and opening new dialogues.
